The Gentle Relaxing Mg Bowel Cleanse

There are many reasons for constipation.  To begin to reverse this condition, the colon must be relaxed and opened.  Moving material through and out the bowel is like moving a golf ball through a sock.  The sock cannot be constricted so much that it cannot open enough for the golf ball to be pushed along.  Similarly, a contracted bowel tube (from laxative use) must relax before it can contract to push material along.  Resorting to laxative herbs to move the bowels is like trying to push feces through a hardened contracted tube.  With time, and without sufficient magnesium, this can result in bowel compactions due to continued contractions.  This colon cleanse makes use of magnesium which is so often all that is necessary to restore healthy bowel movements because it relaxes the colon muscle.  An added benefit from taking Magnesium is that muscle tension throughout the body will ease.

Since the ultimate goal is to get the muscle to work properly I strongly encourage doing the Abdominal Massage especially the scooping up part BECAUSE, people reading this kind of post have likely been bearing down to have a bowel movement and in so doing have flattened the sigmoid colon in the lower left pelvic making it VERY difficult for feces to escape. Scooping is the remedy.

Start with this magnesium pre-cleanse before doing any other bowel cleansing programs including parasite cleansing programs.  Use Magnesium (#1786-6) or whatever Magnesium you tested for.

Directions for Your Magnesium Pre-cleanse

We are going to find the level of magnesium your body needs – everyone is different.  When you get a soft stool or diarrhea, your level has been exceeded by 2 tablets (500 mg).  So continue on 2 less tablets per day.

First Day: one tablet of Magnesium (#1786-6)

Second Day: 2 tablets: 1 – morning, 1- lunch

Third Day: 3 tablets: 1- morning, 1- lunch, 1-dinner

Fourth Day: 4 tablets: 2 – morning, 1 – lunch, 1 – dinner.

Fifth Day: 5 tablets: 2 – morning, 2 – lunch, 1 – dinner

Sixth Day: 6 tablets: 2 – morning, 2 – lunch, 2 – dinner

Seventh Day: 7 tablets: 3 – morning, 2 – lunch, 2 – dinner   etc.

If your level hasn’t been reached, continue adding 1 more tablet/day.  When the stool is loose, the bowel is finally responding to the magnesium deficiency and relaxing.  You may notice other muscles in your body also starting to relax.    I have had some people need 8-12 per day.   Say it takes you 8 tablets on the 8th day to become loose.  Then the 9th day you would skip and the 10th day you would take 6 a day and that would be your dosage for a while. With time you will find you’ll need less.

After your bowels are moving reliably, then you can begin other cleansing programs.

    Pat,

What is the difference between Magnesium citrate or oxide? Which works better for the pre-cleanse?

    Thanks,

Hey Cheryl, They are both magnesium compounds which ionize in the body at different pH environments. This cleanse was written for NSP’s magnesium where each tablet contains 250 mg of magnesium (magnesium oxide and magnesium acid chelate) (63% Daily Value), licorice root, kelp leaf and stem, peppermint leaves and white willow bark. I believe the herbal base supplies important synergists for the minerals. You can try others but the idea is to build up slowly. This one works for many.

    Pat,
I use Calm Calcium/Mag powder at night. (2tsp.) in water before bed. Small bowel has been re-routed (6ft) and brought up and stapled to stomach. I am cramping all over my body big time but don’t have any idea what is causing this. Wondered if this could be mag. deficiency. Thanks.

      Hey Judy,
I doubt that the cramping is anymore from a Magnesium deficiency since you have been taking it. More than likely it is from impaired circulation. I have seen this resolve many times by improving circulation. Gentle yoga stretches may also be helpful.

Hi Pat, once you know your dosage, you say above “that will be your dosage for a while”–how do you know what “a while” is? How do you know when to reduce your dosage and/or stop all together? Thank you in advance for your response.

      Hey JD,
As your body responds to the magnesium, after a while it will become too much, usually resulting in loose stools. Reduce the dosage by one tablet and gauge your results. If the stools are still loose continue reducing. If they slow down too much, go back up. The bowel responds not only to the magnesium but also to the diet, stress, and ability to let go of offenses. So it is a balancing act which hopefully results in a gradual reduction in dosage.

So many of your suggestions contain licorice root. I have adrenal stress which raises my blood pressure big time. I always read to stay away from licorice root. Was going to start with bowel cleanse, have constipation unless I take gentle move, then move to the adrenals, but so much licorice root.

There is a lot of incorrect/distorted herbal info on the internet. Licorice root is an adrenal sparing herb, and the internet legend that says it raises blood pressure does not point out that you have to take the equivalent of more than 30 capsules every day for several weeks to make this happen. Needless to say the amount in herbal combinations is not enough to do this.

Thank you so much for clearing that up. I have avoided anything with licorice root even when it seemed to address my problems and did not understand why II would test for those combs.

Consider this…..

I have learned more from very sick people than I have from double-blind, placebo-controlled, cross-over studies. My sick clients taught me how to get them well - things that even my teachers didn't know. I have such smart clients.
