Essences and Homeopathic Remedies
Homeopathic Remedies and Flower Essences work on the energetic level of the body. Because they work on that level they can correct the adverse affects that our thoughts and emotions have on the physical tissues of the body, IF taken regularly. Homeopathy is the science of using microdoses to stimulate the self recovery process of the body. These remedies impart an order to the body, by supplying information that directs the chaos toward order. I like to think of the action of homeopathic remedies as restoring clarity to what may be a fuzzy blueprint that the body has about healing its own self.
Flower Essences work on the exact same principle. Edward Bach M.B., B.S., D.P.H. was a physician and bacteriologist in England. One of his major contributions to natural healing was his finding that the personality of the individual was more important in determining a course of remedies than the symptoms of the physical body.
As Dr. Bach's findings gained recognition among homeopaths, other flower essences have been introduced all around the world. There are North American Essences, Australian Essences, etc. NSP has a focused set of Flower Essences designed to address the 3 major emotions of anger, fear and grief and then one for trauma (Distress Remedy). Each of the essences contain a combination of flowers that address the suppressed emotion and the expressed emotion.
I have found these kinds of remedies have their greatest utility with children, especially those complaining of nightmares and those diagnosed somewhere on the autistic spectrum.
